Privacy Policy

Overview

SyncMate helps Shopify merchants export selected store data to CSV and Excel, sync selected Shopify data to Google Sheets, and import approved spreadsheet changes into Shopify. This Privacy Policy explains how SyncMate handles information when merchants install or use the app.

Exports and syncs do not modify Shopify data. Import applies only mapped changes shown in preview and approved by the merchant, or changes covered by auto-apply the merchant explicitly enables. SyncMate does not fulfill or refund orders.

Information SyncMate Accesses

SyncMate accesses Shopify data and connected spreadsheets only as needed to provide merchant-selected exports, imports, syncs, job history, support, troubleshooting, billing, plan enforcement, and app reliability.

SyncMate may store limited shop profile and app usage metadata, such as store name, domain, country, Shopify plan, aggregate resource counts, sync/export status, and limit events. This metadata is used for support, troubleshooting, billing and plan enforcement, security, app operation, and product reliability improvement.

Depending on merchant selections and plan access, data types may include Shopify store or admin data such as:

• Orders
• Products
• Customers
• Inventory
• Payouts
• Fulfillment Orders
• Discounts
• Collections
• Draft Orders
• Locations
• Menus
• Inventory Transfers

Customer or order data may include personal information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, billing addresses, order history, and related customer information when the merchant selects those exports or syncs.

How SyncMate Uses Data

SyncMate uses Shopify data to:

• Generate CSV exports.
• Generate Excel exports.
• Write selected Shopify data to connected spreadsheets.
• Run scheduled spreadsheet syncs.
• Read merchant-selected spreadsheet tabs for import previews.
• Apply merchant-approved or explicitly automated import changes.
• Store short-lived preview and restore metadata.
• Show export and sync history.
• Enforce plan limits.
• Provide support and troubleshooting.
• Maintain app security and reliability.

SyncMate does not sell customer data and does not use merchant customer data for unrelated advertising or marketing.

Google Sheets Access

When a merchant connects a Google account, SyncMate can create and update spreadsheets for exports and syncs, and read spreadsheets the merchant selects for import. Access is limited to files created through or selected for SyncMate.

SyncMate does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties for their independent use. It may disclose Google user data only to service providers acting on our behalf to host, secure, support, and operate the app, or when required by law. Those providers may use the data only to provide their services to us.

SyncMate's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Merchants control who can access their connected spreadsheets. Anyone a merchant shares a spreadsheet with may be able to view its exported Shopify data.

Export Files And Retention

Generated export files may be stored temporarily and privately so merchants can download files and view export history. Retention windows depend on the merchant's plan:

• Starter: 7 days.
• Pro: 30 days.
• Business: 90 days.

After the applicable retention period, SyncMate may delete generated files or clear stored job output details while retaining minimal metadata needed for support, billing, security, or compliance.

Shopify Privacy Webhooks

SyncMate supports Shopify privacy webhooks, including customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. These requests help Shopify and merchants manage data access, deletion, and redaction requirements.

When SyncMate is uninstalled, scheduled syncs are stopped and app data is handled according to the cleanup and retention behavior described in this policy.

Service Providers

SyncMate may use infrastructure and service providers to operate the app, including hosting, storage, database, queue, logging, email, security, and billing providers. These providers are used only as needed to run SyncMate.

Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for:

• Choosing which Shopify data to export or sync.
• Protecting downloaded CSV and Excel files.
• Managing access to connected spreadsheets that receive Shopify data.
• Deleting exported files or spreadsheet data from their own systems when needed.
• Using SyncMate in compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Security

SyncMate uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect app data. No system is perfectly secure, and merchants should avoid sharing exported or synced data with unauthorized people.
